HonestBuildings.com rolled out its database on 32,000 buildings in the Seattle area, providing information including size and location, environmental profile, and what work has been done and by whom. The site is a way for architects, engineers, and contractors to showcase their work through their online profiles, effectively creating portfolios of the work they have done, and a way to let their customers see the work before hiring them. The building profiles on Honest Buildings’ site include the year in which a building was constructed and renovated, square footage, ownership, property management team and leasing brokers, and participation in environmentally friendly programs such as the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification and the Energy Star program.

As part of its rollout in Seattle, HonestBuildings.com partnered with Seattle 2030 District to help compile detailed environmental information on thousands of local commercial and mixed-use buildings. The Seattle organization is a public/private partnership that aims to help building owners and tenants reduce environmental impacts of facility construction and operations.

HonestBuildings.com operates sites in New York, Washington, D.C., and San Francisco, and is featured in the June 7, 2012, edition of the Puget Sound Business Journal.
